- MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
- Statute of limitations varies from state to state on how much time you have to file a lawsuit against a doctor or medical provider. In California, for example, the statute is one year from the date of discovery, and if you miss it you may be out of luck. Some states put a cap on how much you can sue for in malpractice cases. You should contact a licensed attorney who specializes in medical malpractice as soon as possible when you suspect a negligent result. Here is a very usefull site that has a summary of malpractice laws by state. We are not attorneys and we do not give legal advice and this should not be construed as legal advice.

- Hundreds of lawyers do malpractice and you should find one that specializes in malpractice. Contact the bar association fo a recommendation. Check with the Better Business Bureau as to complaints. Search the name on the internet to see what clients say about the attorney. There are some sites that say they screen attorneys and provide a referral system, such as a popular radio attorney Handel On The Law.

PHONY CURES
FTC went after several websites that were promising a variety of cancer cures. Eleven companies were targeted by the Federal Trade Commission. Most used words like "cancer cure" and "cancer miracle" to attract web traffic and then sponsored links would lead the people to a sales site with supposed cures.
Actually there were over 100 sites claiming phony cancer cures and about a third closed down after receiving warning notices from the FTC. Sites reaching settlements with the FTC and promising not to make unsubstantiated claims include:
Ni-Gen Nutrition of Troy
Westberry Enterprizes of Pineville, La
Jim Clark's All Natural Cancer Therapy of Lousiville
Companies being sued by the FTC include:
Omega Supply of San Diego
Herbs for Cancer
The FTC also launched a website about bogus cancer claims: www.ftc.gov/curious
